"I've got a gut feeling"

The gut/brain axis influences what we think, feel, and do. Microbes in your intestines communicate with the brain cells. The gut helps determine the body's inflammation set point... which when elevated leads to chronic degenerative and auto-immune diseases as well as anxiety and depression. Antibiotics and drugs in commercial products are part of the problem. Modified foods... corn, soy, and wheat contribute to inflammation. Refined carbohydrates, high fructose corn syrup, and sweeteners such as asparatame are also linked to the inflammatory process. With the ingestion of our modern-day diet, it is no longer a question of who has a leaky gut but how much each of us are affected. All degrees of leaky gut cause increased inflammation and decreased nutritional absorption. The dangers of this can lead to diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's, cancer, anxiety, depression, etc. Research demonstrates that by improving the intestines we can help irritable bowel syndrome and other chronic diseases. Natural health is about correcting the cause of illness:
  • Embellishing the intestines with proper supplementation,
  • Opening the nerve pathways for better funtioning with chiropractic adjustments,
  • Curbing one's intake of inflammatory foods.
All of these action steps will lead us to the healthy body we were meant to have. Click here if you would like to take our "leaky gut" quiz.
